French president arrives in Armenia

President of France Nicolas Sarkozy has arrived in Armenia, News.am reports.He was met by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan at Zvartnots airport. A military orchestra performed the national anthems of Armenia and France. Nicolas Sarkozy is accompanied by Charles Aznavour, former minister Patrick Devedjian, world-famous singer Helene Segara and the famous football player Youri Djorkaeff.The French president is also expected to visit Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The address says that today the Azerbaijani community in Georgia and Georgian community in Azerbaijan exist freely and safely.

Credit rate for BTK railway construction may rise

The credit rate for construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway maybe reconsidered, Azerbaijani Railways said today, Business Georgiareports.The rate may reach 5%. Azerbaijani Railways said that the governmentmay provide an additional $500 million for the construction. $200million have already been provided from the state oil fund. The credithas a 25-year term with an annual interest rate of 1%.
